Established as a 2-year course of Special Aviation Program in Busan during the Korean War.

Feb. 1, 1953.
Changed to a 3-year course of the National Aviation School.
Moved to Bumil-Dong, Busan.

Oct. 15, 1953.
Moved to Youngsan Campus located at 3-65, Hangangno, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

Nov. 14, 1953.
Changed to a four-year National Aviation College.

Mr. Hyo-Kyung Song is inaugurated as the second Dean.

Aug. 3, 1954.
Airplane Hangar is built at 200-1 Hwajon, Sindo, Goyang-gun.

Airdrome for training is built. Maiden flight.

Jan. 14, 1958.
The titles of the departments are changed: from Department of Flight Operation to Department of Flight Operation and Traffic Control, from Department of Aircraft Power Plants to Department of Air craft Maintenance, from Department of Telecommunication Engineering to Department of Telecommunication and Electronics.

Dec. 31, 1959.
The titles of the departments are changed: from Department of Flight Operation and Traffic Control to Department of Flight Operation. Department of Telecommunication and Electronics is divided into two departments - Department of Communication Control and Department of Applied Electronic Engineering.

Aug. 1, 1962.
Moved to 40 Hangangno, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

Nov. 22, 1963.
First Academic Building is built in Hwajeon-dong, Deokyang-gu, Goyang-city, Gyeonggi-do.

Mar. 31, 1964.
Graduates are eligible for a 4-year university degree according to Ministry of Education Order No 191.

Jan. 19, 1965.
Academic system is changed a 4-year program. According to the Revised Decree on National Academic Institutes, admission requirements are changed to high school graduation or equivalent.

Sept. 2, 1968.
Hall of Electronics and Telecommunication is established.

Dec. 31, 1968
School jurisdiction is changed from the Ministry of Transportation to the Ministry of Education. The college is renamed National Hankuk Aviation College. Department of Flight Operation, Department of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, Department of Communication and Control, and Department of Applied Electronics are respectively changed into Department of Flight Operation and Administration, Department of Maintenance Engineering, Department of Aviation Telecommunication Engineering, and Department of Avionics Engineering.

Oct. 25, 1969.
Student Life Research Institute is established.

Dec. 22, 1970.
The entrance quorum of each department is increased by 10.
Total entrance quorum becomes 120.

Jan. 19, 1971.
An Air Force ROTC program is established.

Dec. 18, 1971.
Department of Maintenance Engineering is renamed to Department of Aeronautical & Mechanical Engineering. The entrance quorum of Department of Aeronautical & Mechanical Engineering, Department of Aviation Telecommunication Engineering, and the Department of Avionics Engineering is increased by 10. Total entrance quorum is 150.

Department of Flight Operation and Administration is divided into Department of Flight Operation and Department of Aviation Management. Total entrance quorum is 180.

Central Library is built.

Aviation Control Center is established.

Entrance quorum of the Department of Flight Operation and Department of Aviation Management is increased by 10 respectively. Total entrance quorum is 200.

Entrance quorum is increased by 100 (10 for Department of Aviation Management , 60 for Department of Aeronautical & Mechanical Engineering, 10 for Department of Aviation Telecommunication, 20 for Department of Avionics Engineering). Total entrance quorum becomes 300.

Jan. 10, 1979.
Jungseok Foundation takes over the management of National Hankuk Aviation University.

Mar. 5, 1979.
Mr. Choong Hoon Cho, former chairman of the Hanjin Group, is inaugurated as the executive director of the Board of Trustees of the Jungsuck Foundation.

Oct. 21, 1979.
Department of Aviation Management is renamed to Department of Business Administration.

May 1, 1981.
Mr. Choong Kun Cho becomes the second executive director.

Computer Center is established.

University Regulations are changed from Dean to President, from Aviation Training Center to Aviation Technical Personnel Training Center, and from Saemaul Center to Institute for Community Development Research Institute for Humanities and Natural Science. Institute for Aircraft Safety and System Management is established.

The Graduate School of Aviation Industry established.

Oct. 4, 1995.
Entrance quorum of the Graduate School is changed: 50 in Master's Program in Department of Telecommunication, 40 in Department of Air Electronics. Total quorum is changed from 670 to 760. Department of Air Business Administration becomes Department of Business Administration.

Dr. O-Wha Park is inaugurated as the second President. Department of Industry Electronics is renamed to Department of Electronics.
Construction of Science Hall, Engineering Hall, Electronics Hall, and Construction of Student Hall are completed on the new Campus.

Master's Program in Aerospace Engineering is offered. Entrance quorum of the Graduate School is changed: 16 are added to School of Engineering and thus the total quorum is 152. Doctoral Program in Materials Engineering is opened and 5 are added to the Graduate School of Business Administration.

School of Evening Courses are opened: 40 for Department of Business Administration and 30 for Department of English. Total Entrance Quorum is 860.

Department of Air and Space Law is established (30) in school of Evening course. Total entrance quorum is 890.

Air Traffic Control Education Center is established.

Master's Program of Graduate School of Aviation Industry is opened.

Purchase of 4 Cessna Airplanes and contribution of 1 Mooney by Korean Air.
